eCL - Vision & Roadmap for Change My passion is to foster change in educational leadership through technology, collaboration, and professional development. I champion educational technology to create immersive inter-activities, experiences, communications digital lessons, creating new learning paths, and opportunities. In 2013, I launched eCL Biology, a Flipped Classroom Program, at College Heights Secondary, and eCL Biology 12 a year later. With tremendous student response and support, the eCL Biology Program enters its fourth year. Project & Inquiry Based Learning - Central to a Flipped Approach Project and inquiry based learning are flexible approaches to teaching where students engage in personalized, relevant, real world problems and challenges. The activities are designed to engage and inspire students to apply a deeper understanding of their studies. With this type of active and engaged learning, students are inspired to obtain a deeper knowledge of the subjects studied. Facilitating Learning eCampusLive blends research and live interaction. Once students have chosen a project, it is their task to research all aspects of their inquiry. Online resources provided include digital lessons, information, and ideas for projects. This enables students to research and access information anytime and anywhere. It also provides valuable time for the instructor to work alongside students, guiding and facilitating their research, while helping refine objectives, and ensuring projects target learning outcomes. Reporting Learning To communicate with parents and students, progress will be reported online via an online marks website, and via progress reports emailed parents & students. |
